DESCRIPTION:
APW - Hamilton and O'Hara, grade 992 with rare Borresen-DeLong center seconds, 16S, GF OF recase, SW-LS, signed O'Hara WED with central sunken hour chapter, outer minutes and seconds chapter, fully capped lever escapement, 21J, GJS, banded interlocking pattern NI damascene, s#1085135. Please see commentary of the previous lot for information regarding Helge A Borresen and Charles E DeLong. This example is from a run of grade 992 movements made in 1914 per the Gelson list of Hamilton production and was presumably modified by DeLong sometime shortly thereafter. The hand arrangement of this example differs from the previous lot with its sweep seconds hand arranged intermediary to the minute and hour hands.
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, near mint mvt condition overall, no oxide; dial with central fracture, fracture at 20-25 minutes, hl at 38 minutes, fracture at 56 minutes; hands mint; case shows very light wear, many MFS, no dents or dings; bow tight, crown shows light wear, brass highlights; good glass crystal.
